Scopophobia is the fear of being watched, or of being seen.

​

It seemed an apprioprate title, as this project began as a way to help me come to terms with being 'that creepy guy with a camera' in town.

​

In reality, I didn't come to terms with anything; instead I came up will all sorts of ways to make my pictures, such as photographing from odd angles, using self-timers, and even staging images to make it appear as if I were photographing strangers.

​

This desire to avoid any potential conflict had a very strong affect on the work, as it make me appear even more like a creepy guy with a camera.
